1.  Kingsley golf  Club

The private Kingsley Club is located in a remote spot south of Traverse City. It was opened in 2001. The club has quickly achieved modern classic status, being included in the Golf Digest and in the list of America’s Second 100 Greatest Courses. It has a detailed course tour with descriptions, photos, and maps of every hole.

The Kingsley club was designed, built, and maintained to take the advantage of the unique landforms and remarkable soil of the site. The golf course is exposed and the wind often blows briskly, the design is meant to allow for a multitude of options with every shot, whether that calls for a fade, draw, low runner, “Texas wedge,” or other inventive shot that the golfer conjures up.

2. Harbor shores golf course

It is located 90 minutes from Chicago. Harbor shore is a premier destination for golfers throughout the midwest. Harbor Shores is the first beach, golf, and residential waterfront community in Michigan. the harbor shore has hosted the Senior PGA championship that was presented by Kitchen Aid

The Harbor shore’s 18 holes course was opened in 2010. The grand opening has an attendance of Johny Miller, Arnold Palmer, and Tom Watson. Also includes the designer who was Jack Nicklaus. The the18-hole course features three dramatic holes with sweeping views of Lake Michigan; 10 holes bordering the beautiful banks of the Paw Paw River, Ox Creek, and its wetlands; and 4 holes through rolling hills, ravines, and a hardwood forest, truly a unique golf experience.

3. Lost Dunes Golf Club, Bridgman

 Lost Dunes is a private 18-hole golf course that opened in 1999. The par-71 course is located in West Michigan not far from the lake which is set in the contours of a reclaimed sand quarry. However, unless you join as a member, the opportunities to play it are few and far between.

4. Arcadia Bluffs Golf Club, Arcadia

The Golf club was Founded in 1999, in Arcadia Bluffs. It is a world-class public golf course with spectacular scenery to match the first-rate golf experience. On 245 acres overlooking Lake Michigan, it has been compared to British courses and requires a complete game to master. The original Bluffs Course resembles a seaside links course with rolling terrain, natural fescues, and panoramic views of beautiful Lake Michigan. 5. Crystal Downs Country Club, Frankfort

It was designed by British golf course architect Alister Mackenzie (who also designed Augusta) back in 1929, it features a series of challenging and unconventional but spectacular holes

6. Forest Dunes Golf Club, Roscommon

It is located within the Huron National Forest. The public Forest Dunes Golf Club promises “one of the country’s most peaceful and exciting golf experiences”. Being in a forest, the course has features that are challenging in navigating around the red and jack pines. There are also wide meadows, sand dunes, and beautiful lakes. It was opened in 2002 and was designed by British Open Champion Tom Weiskopf.

7. Lake Michigan Hill golf club

Lake Michigan Hills is located in the Benton Harbor/St. Joseph area. It celebrates over 45-years of golf service to the community. The course architect, Charles Maddox, Sr., treats the golfer with many elevation changes, generous tree-lined fairways, and large undulated greens. The clubhouse and banquet facility is located high on top of a bluff overlooking the golf course, creating a beautiful and perfect setting for wedding receptions or other private parties.

8. Greywalls at Marquette Golf Club, Marquette

It has two full 18-hole courses, the public Marquette Golf Club is Upper Michigan’s only 36-hole facility.  The club was opened in 1926. Its highly rated Greywalls course didn’t open until 2005, but it soon became nationally recognized for its rugged and diverse terrain. architect Mike DeVries the man who was behind the Kingsley Club designed the golf course.

9. True North Golf Club, Harbor Springs

 The private True North Golf Club has been carved out of the region’s north woods. It has many fairways flanked by tall and unforgiving trees. The land’s topography does provide stunning views of the surrounding landscape, but a number of ponds and the course’s 7,027-yard length will ensure you can’t enjoy the view too much.

10.LochenHeath Golf Club, Williamsburg

The private LochenHeath’s Scottish name is reflected in its Scottish links-style. It offers both a challenge and beautiful scenery among a former cherry orchard. The golf course has a great course for testing yourself through a number of tricky holes. It has breathtaking views of the Bay that will make any bad game worthwhile though. Limited outside play is offered.
