Snacks that are healthy don’t have to taste bad just because they are low in calories. In fact, there are a wide variety of tasty snacks that you can enjoy for well under 50 calories. These can keep you on track with your diet, help you see results and make you feel full when you’re hungry. Being on a diet is difficult, but it can be made easier when you have low calorie snacks that you actually enjoy eating!
1. Low Calorie Cereal and Almond Milk (unsweetened)
If you’re in the mood for cereal, then pour yourself a half serving of your favourite cereal along with a small amount of unsweetened almond milk. This should add up to around 50 calories, but that depends on the cereal that you use of course.
Fresh air popped popcorn only has 46 calories per 1.5 cups and is a lot better for you than microwaved popcorn. It is also high in fiber, so it will make you feel full.
A small box of raisins yields only 45 calories and is full of vitamins and antioxidants. You can eat these from pretty much anywhere, so they are great for anyone who doesn’t have time to prepare a snack.
A serving of 3/4 cup of these berries is only 50 calories and tastes great! They are full of vitamins, minerals and antioxidants as well, so they are definitely good for you.
5. Tomato and Balsamic Vinegar
Slice up a large tomato and pour 1 tbsp of balsamic vinegar over it. The tomato will fill you up and the vinegar will add a little bit of extra flavor. Tomatoes are full of vitamins and minerals that are good for you, so eat up!
6. Hardboiled Egg Whites
Hardboiled egg whites taste great with a little bit of garlic powder or alone without anything at all. Each egg white is only 20 calories and has protein along with many other vitamins and minerals.
7. Baked Apple
If you want something sweet, then bake half an apple in the oven with a little bit of cinnamon sprinkled on top of it. Enjoy this with a tablespoon of cottage cheese or yogurt and you’ve got a healthy snack you’ll want to eat again and again!
8. Peach and Cinnamon
One medium peach is only 38 calories and is high in fiber for how small it is. Make this especially tasty by grilling it and then sprinkling it with some sugar!
9. Tofu Hot Dog
If you want to try new foods, try a tofu hot dog. These come in at under 50 calories and taste great with mustard, ketchup or without anything at all. They are great alternatives to regular hot dogs because of their nutrients and low calorie count.
10. Broth with Veggies
Make your own soup with some vegetable or chicken broth and fresh vegetables. Once the veggies are done cooking you will be able to enjoy a filling meal that is low in calories and high in vitamins.
