Prime: An American Kitchen & Bar in Stamford features a four-course prix-fixe menu with entree choices like filet mignon Wellington, NY prime strip, Hudson Valley steelhead salmon and roasted scallops, with an upcharge for options like surf and turf and filet Oscar. L’Escale in Greenwich offers two seatings. The first, from 5 to 7:30 p.m., features an a la carte menu, and the second, with seatings from 8 to 9 p.m., has a special five-course menu for $225 per person (optional wine pairing for $95.) The menu offers dishes like foie gras ravioli and Périgord truffle, Maine lobster gratinée, Dover sole and Maryland crab paupiette, crispy duck breast and filet mignon Rossini. La Plage in Westport offers an a la carte menu for the early seating from 4 to 6:30 p.m., and later seatings from 8 to 10 p.m. feature a five-course menu ($175 per person) with dishes like Stonington jumbo sea scallop and Périgord truffle, local black sea bass a la plancha and prime filet mignon Oscar. Water’s Edge at Giovanni’s in Darien features a New Year’s Eve prix-fixe dinner menu with choice of entree, including beef, veal, seafood and poultry options ($90) or signature specials like surf and turf and 2 1/2 pound Maine lobster ($110). Dinner includes access to a dance party, starting at 10 p.m. Tickets for just the party are $50, including dessert table, coffee and champagne toast. Sign of the Whale in Stamford is hosting a New Year’s Eve bash at 8 p.m., with top-shelf open bar, passed appetizers and a full buffet with carving station. Must be 21+ to buy tickets. 203-883-8282.

Washington Prime in Norwalk hosts a Prohibition-themed New Year’s bash starting at 7:30 p.m. Tickets include a three-course dinner, open bar and music from swing band Swingadelic. “Gatsby” attire is suggested. Cost is $135 per person; make reservations on OpenTable. 203-857-1314.

The Wheel in Stamford offers a four-course menu with entree options of diver scallops, chicken with chestnut dumplings, beef short rib or squash risotto with black trumpet mushrooms. Cost is $85 per person for the early seating, from 5 to 6:30 p.m., and includes a glass of sparkling wine. Bernard’s in Ridgefield offers a special prix-fixe menu with seatings between 4 and 8 p.m., featuring dishes like foie gras terrine, warm lobster salad, butternut squash and black truffle risotto, Long Island duck duo, beef Wellington and roasted venison medallion. Cost is $145 per person, and a kids’ menu is available. Olives and Oil in New Haven hosts a New Year’s party starting at 6 p.m., with special dishes, a DJ starting at 10 p.m. and open bar from 10 p.m. to 1 a.m. 203-891-5870.

Oak Haven Table & Bar in New Haven hosts a “black and white” soiree, with dinner seatings at 5, 7 and 9 p.m. A three-course dinner includes entrees like NY strip, black sea bass or wild mushroom risotto (with a 48-ounce tomahawk steak and sides available for an extra $15 per person.) Cost is $40 per person for the early seating, $50 for 7 p.m. and $60 for 9 p.m., which includes evening entertainment (DJ and dancing.) 203-915-9413.

Oak Haven also features its annual hangover brunch New Year’s Day from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. 

Shell & Bones in New Haven hosts New Year’s Eve, with seatings until 11 p.m. and the raw bar open until midnight. A complimentary toast will be held at midnight to accompany the ball drop on television, with live music by Mama Cheetah. The restaurant’s “shells and bubbles” ($165) will be available, including a seafood tower and a bottle of Schramsberg sparkling wine. Camacho Garage in New Haven will celebrate New Year’s Eve with its a la carte menu and holiday specials, as well live music beginning at 10 p.m.  The kitchen will also be open until midnight.  Reservations can be made via camachogarage.com or by calling 203-691-1969.  

The restaurant is also offering a special $150 takeout package that serves four, including guacamole, pulpo and shrimp ceviche, duck drummettes, 24-piece taco kit and tres leches with optional add-on margarita kits ($49 for mini or $99 for party).  Pre-order via phone by December 30 for pick-up on New Year’s Eve between noon and 11 p.m.

Geronimo Tequila Bar and Southwest Grill in Fairfield and New Haven will celebrate New Year’s Eve with its a la carte menu and holiday specials.  Live music will kick off at both locations at 10 p.m.  The kitchen will also be open until midnight.  Reservations can be made online or by calling 203-955-1643 (Fairfield) or 203-777-7700 (New Haven).

The restaurants will also be open for regular business hours on New Year’s Day starting at 11 a.m., including brunch until 3 p.m.

Griswold Inn in Essex hosts a three-course New Year’s Eve dinner with seatings from 5 to 9 p.m., with main courses like seared sea scallops and risotto, five-spiced Long Island duck, grilled NY strip steak or crispy-skin salmon. Cost is $69. Call 860-767-1776 for reservations.

Saybrook Point Resort & Marina in Old Saybrook hosts its annual New Year’s Eve gala at 7:30 p.m., with passed hors d’oeuvres, appetizer stations with raw bar and entrees like herb garlic crusted filet mignon, pan-seared halibut and Moulard duck breast. Water’s Edge in Westbrook offers early dinner seatings at 5 and 5:30 p.m., with a $79 four-course dinner and complimentary champagne or apple cider toast.
