1. Duran Golf Club
You can usually find the sprawling fairways at Duran in mint condition. The maintenance crew does a great job keeping this course in tip-top shape, from the tee to green. The greens are undulating and fast, making this a course that can challenge the best of them.
The course has many water hazards and sand traps to keep you on your toes. It’s not too difficult to stay out of trouble as the fairways are quite wide.
2. Spessard Holland Golf Course
This unique course lies between the Atlantic Ocean and the Indian River and has been around since 1977 after being designed by Palmer Enterprises.
It’s shorter than most courses at 5,210 yards and plays at a par-67. You might want to bring your flippers to the course because boy oh boy is there a lot of water, and it’s not hard to get into trouble. Make sure you bring a few extra balls for this one.
3. Crane Creek Reserve Golf Course
Crane Creek is a nice 18-hole course with clubhouse facilities, a driving range, and a putting area. The rates are great, especially considering that this course is usually in nice shape.
The back nine is the better nine and has an interesting and challenging design. The greens can be a little slow at times, which can be disappointing for seasoned golfers. This course gets pretty busy so be sure to book a time in advance.
4. Cocoa Beach Country Club
This public country club features 27 holes of golf, swimming, tennis, and great dining. The River Course is spectacular with scenic views along the banks. There’s plenty of wildlife to be seen and heard to keep you on your toes.
The Dolphin Course is also popular, lined with beautiful flowers and palm trees to give a true Floridian feel. The course has a beer cart on the links to keep you refreshed. Just remember not to drink and drive.
5. Viera East Golf Club
Viera East has a reputation for being a great course with excellent value. The golf rates come with a cart that includes a GPS shot range screen.
The course is always in excellent shape, and you’ll love the picturesque 9th hole. The greens are immaculate and play at a decent speed. Overall, it’s a challenging course but also has some holes where you can gain some ground.
