Deerfield Public Golf Course, Newark, DE

This 145-acre course offers 18-hole championship golf course, paddleball courts, Sunday Brunch, and the bucolic, ancient forests of White Clay Creek State Park. Historically, this site was originally built by the DuPont Corporation for its employees in 1955 and was called Louviers Country Club. Fifty-one years later, Deerfield now offers an on-site restaurant, driving range, full course, and putting green.

Back Creek Golf Course, Middletown, DE

Fresh off from their 2017 Best of Delaware Award, Back Creek offers over 70 years of history and was once reportedly land owned by Delaware’s first governor, Joshua Clayton. Although the surrounding area has now grown up, the course still feels secluded and comfy as it is a walking only course, and golf rangers regularly patrol the grounds keeping them neat and tidy.

Frog Hollow Golf Club, Middletown, DE

The Frog Hollow Golf Club is a public sports facility that offers access to tennis courts, an Olympic-sized pool, and an 18-hole championship-level golf course. There is also a restaurant and bar on-site, and the club offers lessons, camps, clinics, and league play for every age and ability. Boasting well-manicured fairways and greens, you will also find plenty of sand dunes and forested areas.

Rock Manor Golf Club, Wilmington, DE

Rock Manor is an 18-hole, 6,405-yard championship-level course that is open to the public and challenges player with varying elevations. Their website offers a free downloadable app, and you can book tee times online. Also, the course is certified as a Cooperative Sanctuary by Audubon International, and the club is committed to helping protect local natural resources, the environment, and natural wildlife habitats.

The Salt Pond Golf Club, Bethany Beach, DE

The Salt Pond Golf Course is a very accessible mid-range public golf course featuring 18-holes and plenty of par-threes and fours. Ponds, natural waterways, and bucolic woodlands provide a backdrop to well-manicured fairways and greens. Moreover, you should expect to see a wide variety of wildlife and lots of sand and grass.

Midway Par 3 Public Golf Course, Lewes, DE

Midway opened in 1980 and features short-play, par-three golf with immaculate fairways and regulation-sized greens. Plus, you can play all day long at one low price, or play once in a quick couple of hours, as holes range from 65-150 yards long. What’s more, kids play for only $12 and veterans also play at a discount.

Hooper’s Landing Public Golf Course, Seaford, DE

Hooper’s Landing Golf Course is a championship-level 72-hole public golf course that features over 203-acres of Delmarva Peninsula land. The course was designed by Alfred H. Tull in 1949, and the sprawling course has been well-maintained and little changed since. In addition, a year-round bar and grill, driving range, and putting green have been added.

Jonathan’s Landing Public Golf, Magnolia, DE

Jonathan’s Landing is an 18-hole championship-level public course that offers four sets of tees on each hole for varying levels of play.
