Unrealistic expectations for little pay
Management and customers can create a very chaotic work place. They do not support the right amount of hours or man power going into tasks that need to be done however they expect you to exceed expectations. You’re expected to block entire aisles, break down as many mixed pallets as possible, receive trucks down your aisle, help out SEVERAL customers looking for product that’s neither in stock, in the right place, or up on the top steel that needs to be taken down with a forklift where only 2 are on the floor with 7 aisles, clean and sweep, pack out, hustle in some cases 30 degree climates, under management that’s just winging as the day goes on. For each department there should be at least 4-5 employees for blocking, customer service, receiving trucks, etc. Instead all responsibilities can be burdened on to just two or some times one employee. Most times you are forced into overtime just to get your recovery done or receive an unexpected late truck but it never turns out that way at the end of your shift unless you have an early shift. I’ve see day one new employees thrown to the wolves without proper training while others have called out. I would say there was a 35% chance new employees on their first day would quit before lunch. I worked there for 2 years before becoming overwhelmed by politics, stress, and micromanagement every day. Without leaving on a bad note I just turned in my two weeks respectfully and worked up until my last day. I wouldn’t even want to go back for
Pros
Free coffee, two 15 minute breaks, and a 30 minute lunch. Great insurance and unionized job security.
Cons
Negative managers, customers, cut hours for full time employees, a four man job thrown on one employee for each department, very little hourly pay.

Restaurant Depot works if you work for it.
I have found that while working here if you give your soul to them you can go far and earn decent pay. Problem is the farther you go in the company the more it becomes harder to leave. Most long term employees have stated that they stay because they get paid just the right amount but not enough to want to stay. The turn over is ridiculous and everyone is out for themselves. There is no sense of teamwork and the more valued they think you are the more work they throw on you. There is obvious favoritism but have noticed a slight change for the better. The company itself is slowly moving out of the 1980’s in its system and way of running itself and has a rather (for a lack of a better word) stupid Outdated way of operations.
Pros
Chance for advancement, healthcare and union positions
Cons
Extremely Heavy workload, no teamwork and high turnover

They allow there employees to work unsafe and encourage locking employees in over night to complete work. Also force you to work 18+hour shifts.
They allow there employees to work unsafe and encourage locking employees in over night to complete work. Also force you to work 18+hour shifts. This is a bad place to work don’t do this to yourself and your family.
Pros
None I can think of, stay away from this company even if it’s your last resort, Don’t take it and work some place else till you find something better.
Cons
Don’t do this to yourself, it will change who you are as a person it’s so bad.

Warehouse for businesses.
Lead Freezer Machine Operations. The company wont appreciate you. No real room for advancement. Advancement opportunities are usually only given so that they can force good workers to be non- union and have you work mandatory overtime with no compensation. They care very little about their employees and will not work with you in any way. Experienced blatant and frequent racism. Management never keeps any of their promises does not provide any training.

Work/life balance is non-existance
This is not a company you want to work for if you have family, a wife, husband, girlfriend, boyfriend, friends. This company squeezes the life out of you and forces you to work long hours or their motto is “if you can’t do it then we will replace you with somebody else”!
On the flip side if you have no life and you want to do nothing but work with no regards to life balance, then this company is for you.

innovation
It is not a bad place to work, it only needs innovation, a system that allows employees to make their work easier, particularly I am proud to have worked for this company, I think that each worker must be taught why to love restaurant depot and so the employee can convey this feeling to the customer, restaurant depot is a great company, They must pay employees better.

They need to hire the right people to manage and show leadership at their stores and not people who is power stroke or used to get bullied in high school but in all the people is a plus

Terrible place to work
Blatent employee abuse from management. Even customers call management out for it. Raises arent given when theyre offered to employees. They expect you to put work ahead of every aspect of your life. Management will make you feel guilty for being sick.

Culture of unhappiness
No one there likes their job, but they pay decently so everyone tries to stay. They do hire people just to fire them sometimes so you want to have a backup plan.
Pros
Good Pay
Cons
Unpleasant work environment, poor culture, lack of training
