An Expert Guide to the Best Mexican Food around Williamsburg, Brooklyn

I give this one a 10/10 for atmosphere since they’ve really put an effort into making it cute, fun and aesthetically pleasing. There’s even another patio out back apparently! I decided to switch it up and get some enchiladas and they did not disappoint. The queso fundido was also top notch. Ingredients were very fresh and I didn’t leave feeling greasy or bleh which is always a good sign. Other tables were drinking some very pretty looking margaritas and sangria if you’re looking for that type of thing! Super nice staff too.

This is a great, quick taco spot, perfect for a weekday lunch! The space itself is tiny but super cute with a small amount of seating. Lots of taco and quesadilla options, including vegan and veg! The chicken taco was my fave.

3. Oxomoco

New favorite restaurant alert!!! Okay so it’s a little north of Williamsburg but holy moly it’s Mexican with a Michelin Star! Aka my dream. We went for brunch but they also serve lunch and dinner. Breakfast burrito is insane!!!!!!! They take reservations so make one just in case. The restaurant itself is beautiful and the service is really top notch. Get the guac fasho. Also the prices are not too crazy! My burrito was 19 bucks. UNREAL.

Dayum. Best queso EVER and these tacos were top notch. Super authentic Mexican spot with a great atmosphere. The queso with chorizo…unreal. And the carnitas tacos were perfectly crunchy. Also their tortillas were some of the best I’ve had. Came for happy hour and ate at the bar but there were tons of friend groups and families at the tables. Their drinks and margaritas look insane.

5. La Taqueria

Super authentic but modern at the same time! This spot has all your Mexican food cravings. While the tacos were super yummy, my fave so far has actually been the tostada. The flavors and ingredients were just so good and fresh. They have nice outdoor seating right now too. Highly reccomend.

Ugh! The cutest taco place EVER! I’m in love with the aesthetic and it’s definitely a hidden gem. They have tons of different tacos and Mexican staples with many veg/vegan options. Highly recommend the fried chicken but the breakfast taco was awesome (and huge) too. They serve breakfast all day so that’s a plus in my book. I’ll definitely be back to try some more soon. Yummmmm!

7. Mcondo los Tacos

I really enjoyed these tostadas and the portion was pretty massive so you definitely get your money’s worth. Lots of cute outdoor seating! The menu is pretty extensive and more modern than your usual taco joint. They have lots of alcoholic drink options too. Perfect meal for when you want something tasty but don’t want to feel shitty after.

8. Tacbombi

Tacbombi is a classic with a couple locations around Manhattan and you can quickly see why. They have absolutely nailed their fish taco and the nachos are on point! Don’t miss out on the side of rice and beans either (they’re delicious). The Williamsburg location has some nice outdoor seating currently but usually I run there, order takeout, and it’s ready in under 5 mins (heck yes).

9. Haab

Last but certainly not least we have the hidden gem Haab. I think it has my favorite fish taco yet (and that’s saying something). The service is just so great (they are so nice and genuine) and the portions are huge for the price. Order directly through their website and they’ll give you a discount! If you go for sit down note that it’s cash only but they have an ATM inside. This is definitely one of my faves.
