Ann Helms, one of the property owners and partners who bought the building in 1989, said the new eatery will be called Back 2 Shuckers and serving food similar to the restaurant it’s replacing.

Shuckers is due to open on May 12th.

“We will be doing seafood with a steam night serving oysters, shrimp and crab legs and a good variety of other choices with specials and home made desserts,” Helms said.

Helms said the location has always been a good local place. She added many of the current staff members will remain in the transition to Back 2 Shuckers.
