Best Bordeaux Wine Country Restaurants with a Map – All Wine Tours

If you plan on visiting wineries in Bordeaux you may want to include a special lunch into your day.

Pick your wine destination first: Medoc, Saint-Emilion, Pessac-Leognan or Sauternes and browse. Whether you are looking for a authentic French cuisine, a Michelin-star gastronomic wonder or a romantic lunch at a winery – Bordeaux has it all.

Lunch starts at noon.  In France, restaurants are rarely open all day long.  Make sure to arrive to a restaurant not later than 1:30 pm or 2 pm. After that, you will likely not be served.

Take your time to have a long French-style lunch with a view of vineyards.  Anyways, most wineries close for lunch too…

You may find portions to be quite small.  So the best strategy is to start with some wine and an appetizer (entree), enjoy a main dish (plat) and to not feel guilty about a dessert.

Many gastronomic restaurants will take you for a full 9-course tasting menu adventure.  In that case, enjoy your meal and give yourself at least 2.5 hours to finish it.

Happy touring and tasting!
