Birmingham Restaurant Week enters its 13th year Thursday, and 40 businesses are expected to take part in the 10-day event. Learn more in the video above.“Giving back is and always has been at the heart of our mission,” Bill Stoeffhaas, co-founder of Birmingham Restaurant Week, said in a news release. “We are excited to enjoy another event with promises to give back to those who truly need it most while having the opportunity to enjoy delicious food and libations that have continuously put Birmingham on the map.”Previously, Birmingham Restaurant Week ran for 18 days to increase business for restaurants during the pandemic. This year, the event takes place from July 21 to 30 in light of staffing shortages. Diners have the chance to eat at participating restaurants, bars and food trucks with special menu prices ranging from $5 to $50 per person. Birmingham Restaurant Week organizer Audrey Pannell said the event goes beyond supporting local businesses.”Just supporting the local restaurants is really at the heart of what we do, but giving back to the community is also a big component of Restaurant Week,” Pannell said.Proceeds from Birmingham Restaurant Week will go to FeedBHM, a nonprofit organization supporting families dealing with food insecurity in the Birmingham area.Find a list of participating restaurants at bhamrestaurantweek.com.
