That’s great, but I also think it’s important to highlight and support Black-owned restaurants in our local cities and towns. So, I put together this list of restaurants that we can support right now in Tupelo, Mississippi and the surrounding area.

Get your fix of sweet and savory treats with the gourmet egg rolls offered at Edible Bliss, a food truck based in the Baldwyn/Tupelo area. The menu rotates regularly, but you can always find the crowd favorite: The Chicago Cheesesteak Egg Roll (chicken, steak, onions, green peppers, mozzarella and provolone cheese). Go for half “Chicago style” and half “Mississippi style.” They’re both incredible!

You’ll find sweet treats like funnel cakes, fried Oreos, and churros that will make you think you’re at the fair, but don’t miss the Fruity Pebbles milkshake… it’s one simple treat that makes my mouth water!

Feel like part of the Shenanigan’s family as soon as you walk in the door with warm welcomes and hot, delicious food! We knew we were in the right place when the heavenly smell reached us in the parking lot. And how many places serve your food in an aluminum pan? The prices are right, the flavor is amazing, and the service is spectacular. The Shenanigan’s sauce is a definite winner on the shrimp boil. If you’re looking for something unique to try, get the Donut Burger! It will blow you away! Extra points for serving Grape Fanta and taking me right back to childhood.

This is a local favorite with quality ingredients and excellent service. Go for traditional nachos or try something new like catfish or gyro nachos!

Down Home Cooking

At Down Home Cooking, the menu changes regularly, so you’ll want to visit multiple times to try all the comfort food. From chicken spaghetti to fried catfish, chicken and dressing to meatloaf, you’re sure to find some delicious “down home” favorites. You may also get the chance to try neck bones or pigs feet if you haven’t before!

Heavenly Barbecue (Love That BBQ Food Truck)

If you know anything about the south, you know that a lot of incredible food comes from gas stations, and that includes gas station parking lots. Stop by Heavenly Barbecue (“Love That BBQ” food truck) outside of Eagle Fast Stop and pick up some rib tips! They’ll have you doing the rib dance! What? I’m the only person who dances over good ribs?
