We had a small New York Strip steak and the “Jesse’s Special,” a fancy burger without the bun. The steak was prepared perfectly, although it was fattier than preferred. It came with four or five small mushrooms, a tasty addition, although there weren’t nearly enough and seemed like they were thrown on as an afterthought.
The Jesse’s Special looked like a mountain of finely shredded lettuce. There was a large piece of meat completely buried by toppings, but maybe they could cut back on the pile of lettuce.
Our group had three suggestions for improving this “special.” Use less lettuce. Use fresher, greener lettuce leaves. Use significantly more dressing so the entree is not so dry.
All three of us were satisfied with our meal. The food was good enough but not outstanding, the service was good on a busy Sunday.
