There are several excellent Italian-style fine-dining options in downtown Cabo San Lucas. Salvatore’s is probably the most popular Italian restaurant with locals. The food is delicious, affordable, and most entrées will feed a small family. Their lasagna is particularly legendary. Alcaravea Gourmet has also developed a passionate local following, with Chef Enrique Gerrard dishing up delectable pastas in a comfortable European-accented atmosphere. DOC Wine Bar, overlooking the main square, is another favorite, and features some great food pairing options for their large list of Italian wines.

Handmade wood-smoked pizzas, occasionally mesquite grilled, have become fashionable in recent years. Sunset da Mona Lisa has their own pizza lounge, and both La Dolce and Romeo y Julieta maintain onsite ovens. The former makes an outstanding quattro formaggi (four cheese) pie, while the latter showcases a delicious house specialty made with ham, mushroom, salami, green pepper and onion.
