Couples said playability was important is his design, and that he wanted all handicaps to be able to enjoy the course.

The refreshment stations are called the Red Doors, offering hot and cold foods in a relaxing environment. For those who want to stay and play, the course is part of a 1,400-acre master community, including a paintball area, perfect for families. An unusual bonus, each golfer receives a solid ice shot glass and is offered a shot of tequila before they tee off. Hotel guests have access to the Chileno Bay Golf Course.
