Through the expression of creativity and culture, Des Moines has become a very diverse city. The Robert D. Ray Asian Gardens provide a landscaped outdoor space to explore Asian culture through stone pagodas and sculptural rock formations. The John and Mary Pappajohn Sculpture Park has over 20 different works of sculptured art, and is worth exploring for yourself.

East Village is a neighborhood that is filled with different restaurants, art galleries, specialty shops, and so much more. So much of what makes up Des Moines is expressed in East Village. There’s plenty to do, and a great place to bring the family.

After celebrating their 100th anniversary in 2001, Waveland Golf Course became the oldest municipal golf course west of the Mississippi. The course was built on wooded hillsides, and is filled with an abundance of trees to make the course tricky, so you’ll have to be accurate with your shots

Once a 9-hole course, Blank Golf Course expanded to become an 18-hole course in 1985. The golf carts have built in GPS systems to give you the exact distance of your ball to the hole. With a total of 31 sand traps and 10 water holes, Blank Golf Course is sure to bring a challenge for you and your buddies!
