Why Thousands of Your Peers Have Turned to PDI For The Best in “The Business of Energy” Training

PDI’s Energy training is on target, virtual (and occasionally as conditions allow, live) and on budget.  Each of our program authors/instructors is a “been there, done that” professional with outstanding industry knowledge coming from decades of industry experience.  All instructors have the skills to communicate, at any level, the material your employees need to be more effective.

Explore our array of programs covering Fundamentals, Petroleum Accounting, Joint Interest, Expense Side, Revenue and Tax. Find the title and delivery mode that best suits your needs.  Navigate quickly to any topic by clicking on one of the convenient icons, above.

About the Energy Site

Open Enrollment classes are multi-client classes accessible to the public and built with a collaborative design which allows attendees to network with peers across the energy industry. Many classes are held virtually.  As COVID restrictions are eased, some will be held in centrally located, energy-centric cities around the U.S.

In House classes customize our case studies to the unique dynamics of your company. With the Dedicated on site class option, programs can be delivered virtually, or, as conditions allow, on site, or in house, at your location or in one of our training centers. Dedicated Class programs are a great option for training multiple people within the same organization.

Conferences are multi-day events for hundreds of participants and are held in major energy cities around the U.S. Among our most popular are the AICPA/PDI Oil and Gas Conference and the venerable North American Petroleum Accounting Conference.

Books and Publications include the industry-standard, Petroleum Accounting: Principles, Procedures and Issues, produced in collaboration with PricewaterhouseCoopers. Check out the complete energy library.

COVID-19 Update:  Because of good practice and mandatory meeting restrictions in many locations due to COVID-19, most PDI Open Enrollment Programs are offered “live-virtual,” so that you can participate from your home or office via the internet.  All the content remains the same as any on-site Open Enrollment and all programs for CPAs in Texas, Oklahoma, Colorado and Wyoming will provide the same CPE hours.

Each virtual program will provide easy, simple-to-use direct visual and audio communication with the instructor, and with other participants, using both voice and chat functions.  A .pdf of the program material will be mailed to you.  On the day before the program, you will be emailed a link which you will click to join and, if necessary, to download Zoom, the platform you will be using.  Provided that you have a good internet connection at home, you will experience little, if any, lag during the class.

When the COVID-19 and travel restrictions are eased, PDI expects to again offer On-Site Open Enrollment and In-House Programs in their traditional formats, as well as the addition of many more virtual options.

All decisions regarding virtual vs. live learning options are made bearing in mind the health and safety of our participants, hosts and instructors.

Please email jhoffman@pdi.org if you have questions or concerns about any program.
