The Faena Hotel Miami Beach will unveil El Secreto Omakase, a one-of-a-kind intimate speakeasy-style omakase experience curated by James Beard Award-winning chef Paul Qui on June 1. El Secreto Omakase will host just two seatings per night at a six-seat bar to indulge in a tasting menu of Tokyo-style sushi and Kyoto-style kaiseki. The stunning private bar is tucked behind Faena Hotel Miami Beach’s candlelit cava and the red velvet folds of Faena Theater.

In Japanese, omakase is translated to “I leave it up to you,” or chef’s selection. The intimate, singular experience will offer an ever-evolving tasting menu inspired by Chef Qui’s extensive training in Japanese cuisine. Qui’s passion for sushi blossomed early in his career with his decade-long tenure at Tyson Cole’s Uchi in Austin, before launching the first high-end omakase concept in Texas. The opening of El Secreto Omakase marks Qui’s longstanding dream of opening a discrete sushi restaurant, presenting innovative flavors, expert technique, and the freshest fish from around the world.

Guests to the six-seat dining alcove will discover a stunning Art Deco-inspired space, outfitted with onyx black walls, a bronze bar, and intricate gilded artworks by renowned artists Juan Gatti and Amaya Bouquet. El Secreto Omakase offers two distinct menus: one featuring the highest quality seafood flown in daily and another showcasing innovative vegetarian dishes. Highlights from the menu include sea urchin from Hokkaido, sustainable bluefin tuna from Baja, and Sanuki Olive Wagyu from Kagawa Prefecture in Japan. The menu is complimented by a curated beverage program showcasing top shelf spirits, beer, wine, craft cocktails, and small-batch sakes.

El Secreto Omakase is open for dinner Wednesday through Sunday, with seatings at 6:30 p.m. and 9 p.m. Vegetarian menu options are available upon request. El Secreto Omakase is $295 per person. For reservations or additional information, please call + 1 786-655-5600.
