Golf Courses - Nassau, Bahamas - Morley Realty

The Bahamas is famous for its white-sand beaches and turquoise waters, and the capital city of Nassau is instantly recognizable for its pastel-colored British colonial architecture. But there’s another reason to get excited about the Bahamas: golf.

Nassau and neighboring Paradise Island are home to some of the world’s most stunning golf courses. If you’re looking to play a round while in the Bahamas, these are our agents‘ favorite courses in the Nassau area.

  1. Royal Blue Golf Club
With its unique two-courses-in-one design created by golf legend Jack Nicklaus, the Royal Blue Golf Club is one of the absolute must-play courses in the Bahamas. This 18-hole, par 72 course is equally suited to championship or recreational play, with dramatic ocean views on the first nine holes and a back nine bounded by dense jungle. The Royal Blue Golf Club is just minutes from many Nassau and Paradise Island homes for sale and offers challenges for golfers of all skill levels.
  2. Albany Golf Course
The 18-hole championship course at this golfer’s paradise hosts the annual Hero World Challenge, which brings some of the best golfers in the world to Nassau every year. Opened in 2010, the Albany Golf Course features a picturesque, rolling landscape with amazing views and more than a few challenges. The lake that wraps around the course has a reputation for devouring golf balls on the 17th hole, but in a place this lovely, you won’t mind. The golf shop and clubhouse are top-notch as well.
  3. Ocean Club Golf Course
The Ocean Club Golf Course rests on Paradise Island, which is separated from Nassau by Nassau Harbor and accessible from its larger neighboring island by bridge or ferry. It’s worth the trip because this stunning 18-hole par 72 championship course is masterfully designed and rewards players with a simply stunning view out over the Atlantic. But don’t let the view distract you. There are some tricky shots at the Ocean Club Golf Course, and the crosswinds are notoriously for whisking balls away in mid-air.
  4. Blue Shark Golf Course
Built on former plantation grounds overlooking the Caribbean west of Nassau, Blue Shark Golf Course blends natural beauty with a unique history. Remnants and ruins of the former plantation have been integrated into the design of the course, which spans 160 acres and has a reputation for being one of the Bahamas’ most challenging. It’s an 18-hole par 72 course and features a stretch known as “The Sharks Teeth” that’s particularly exciting to play through.
  5. Lyford Cay Golf Club
The Lyford Cay Club has a well-deserved reputation as one of the Bahamas’ most exclusive resorts. The club’s 18-hole Rees Jones-designed golf course is not only a splendid place to play a few rounds of golf, but it also has the distinction of having been played by countless celebrities, world leaders, and royal family members since it was first established in the 1950s. Lyford Cay Golf Club’s recently renovated course is a stone’s throw from the beach and offers a rolling landscape of beautifully maintained fairways backed by swaying palm trees.
