HCL Tech enters Vietnam, to hire over 3,000 people

HCL Technologies Ltd (HCL) said Thursday it has set up its first delivery centre in Vietnam at Hanoi, and plans to hire more than 3,000 people over the next three years.

The delivery centre, which will be run by HCL Vietnam Co., will train local manpower in partnership with local software and engineering institutions, HCL said in a statement. The new company will support HCL’s global client base across industries and verticals, including banking and financial services, healthcare, infrastructure, engineering and cybersecurity.

HCL began its business operations in Vietnam in July 2020.

“We are very excited to begin our operations in the beautiful country of Vietnam,” said Sanjay Gupta, corporate vice-president, HCL. “We are fully prepared and committed in bringing new opportunities for both young and experienced talent, to work for a leading global technology company without having to move out of their home country”. “Vietnam and its skilled youth have the true potential to develop a robust IT industry, which is spearheading economic growth in the country,” Gupta said.

“I am very confident that the kind of world-class platform and exposure this company will be providing to our talented resources through its global delivery centre will help in nurturing and building skills that are very much needed in today’s digital age,” said vice-minister Phan Tamat Vietnam’s ministry of information and communications.
