Hunting Programs / Advanced Hunter Education – Forkhorn III

Forkhorn III is designed for youth, ages 12-17, who already have their Firearms Safety Certification and are seeking to expand their knowledge on big and small game hunting. Participants do not have to complete Forkhorn II: Bowhunter Education to enroll in this course. Students will earn their Minnesota Advanced Hunter Certificate. Game specific classes are taught by local professionals from organizations such as the MN DNR wildlife staff, National Wild Turkey Federation, and area hunting guides. Students will have a field trip shooting sporting clays at a local hunting guide service. 

Classes include:

  • Firearm Safety Review
  • Advanced Marksmanship
  • Big and Small Game Ecology and Hunting
  • Hunter Ethics and Responsibilities 

**Students must be 12 years of age or older and have passed a Firearms Safety Training Course to be eligible for this camp.

Cost: $425 per person includes instruction, lodging, home cooked meals and use of equipment. Parents may attend with their child at no additional cost
