What were your first impressions when you arrived? This large 8,434-square-foot interior is decidedly green, and when you step in, you’ll feel as though you’re in a greenhouse. Marvel at the plant accents, leather seating, and prints from Texas artist Jon Flaming, who does a lot of angular, cubist prints. The art lends a touch of modernism in this space that comes alive with a living green ceiling. But aside from the green notes, this What’s the crowd like? JOEY’s Uptown is a very elegant venue and the scene here is also elegant, with banquettes and well-dressed diners, who straddle between wearing yuppie clothing to elegant casual wear. This is a tucked down and in crowd that is serious about its food.
