London’s Vegan Restaurant Farmacy Opens in New York

Today, vegan restaurant Farmacy will open its first location outside of London, England at the Chefs Club Counter in the Soho neighborhood of New York City. Prior to opening the NYC location of Farmacy, the brand worked with local farmers and suppliers to source biodynamic ingredients for its menu, which includes made-from-scratch dishes such as Mac ‘n’ ‘Cheese’ (rice pasta and a truffled vegan cheese sauce); Farmacy Burger (made with a mushroom, millet, and black bean patty); and a selection of whole, plant-based food filled Earth Bowls. For dessert, guests can enjoy refined-sugar free cookies and “nice” cream. The 57-seater space—in which items such as cookbooks, mugs, totes, and plates will be sold—was designed by NYC interior designer Carlos Mota who outfitted the restaurant with lush greenery, natural fibers, and reclaimed wood, an aesthetic Farmacy’s London location is known for. “Since launching Farmacy, we’ve been working hard to challenge food conventions, combining the concept of healing and farming, connecting soil quality with human health,” Farmacy founder Camilla Fayed said. Farmacy will be in residence at the Chefs Club Counter until February 29, 2020 before potentially expanding to new outlets. “I can’t wait to take our Farmacy philosophy from London to New York, showing how you can connect with nature even in the most urban environments,” Fayed said. “The residency at Chefs Club Counter marks the start of our ambitions to grow Farmacy internationally.”
