Nursing R.N.

About Nursing R.N. (A.S.)

Many clinical sites utilized by FSCJ are requiring the COVID-19 vaccine and will not consider exemptions. The College does not require its students to receive the vaccination. Therefore, students who are not vaccinated may not be able to attend clinical experiences and may delay their progress in the program. Students may need to withdraw and return when a clinical site is available that accepts exemptions.

Beginning May 2019, applicants to the Associate in Science in Nursing program are no longer required to submit a supplemental paper application. In order to be considered for the program, please visit www.fscj.edu and click ‘Apply.’ Note: current FSCJ students should identify themselves as ‘Returning Students.’

The Associate in Science (A.S.) in Nursing program is a combination of general education and professional courses including lecture, laboratory and clinical education components. Graduates of the program are prepared to function as entry-level practitioners and are qualified to take the National Council for Licensure Examination (NCLEX-RN) to become licensed as registered nurses (RN). Clinical rotations scheduled in area hospitals and other medical centers are part of the program, so students will graduate with experience as well as theoretical knowledge.
