Our Story – Mason Dixon Cafe

Mason Dixon Cafe first opened its doors in 2012 at the Bowman Center in Spotsylvania, Virginia. Local chef Kelly Hunt had a vision for a breakfast centric dining experience that combines the north and the south to create a unique experience where ‘the locals truly eat’. In 2014 Mason Dixon made the move to its now iconic Princess Anne location in downtown Fredericksburg, providing an atmosphere that is unmatched and a menu at the top of it’s game. From that point the brand started to expand with a second location based in Stafford, Virginia in a spot previously considered to be cursed for businesses. The kiss of death was broken, and the new location is a fan favorite in the growing city. But Kelly wasn’t finished yet. In 2020 construction began on the third location, named Eats, located at the former Mr. Dees location in downtown Fredericksburg. The iconic building warms the hearts of many long term locals, and now the menu will do the same. Eats will be a fast/casual version of the Mason Dixon brand, focusing on burgers and speedy service. We can’t wait to serve you soon!
