Pebble Beach Golf Course was designed by Jack Neville and Douglas Grant, opening on February 22, 1919. The original layout has changed very little over the years. Prior to the 1992 U.S. Open, Jack Nicklaus made a some alterations, including rebuilding the 4th, 5th and 7th greens. The most resent change occurred in 1998 when Jack Nicklaus designed a replacement for the par 3, 5th, which is now positioned along the cliff above the beach at Stillwater Cove.

Are you planning on playing a round at Pebble Beach Golf Links? If so, there is a two night minimum stay requirement at one of Pebble Beach’s hotels in order to make a golf reservation. The only way around this lodging requirement is to book your tee-time one day in advance or try to walk-on. Depending on the season, there is a good chance all of the tee-times will be booked. If you frown upon long rounds, schedule your tee-time so you are the first group off in the morning, as most rounds are in excess of five hours. Also, if you can afford a caddie it is highly recommended, they will save you strokes.
