Elizabeth Santamaria, partner, told What Now Dallas she previously owned a different business in the space at 3767 Forest Ln. in Dallas, but the business closed for renovations following a winter storm. Now the space has been upgraded and the business name changed.

“What we hope to bring to the community is just a new, fun, healthy way to enjoy protein shakes, protein waffles,” Santamaria said. Plugged In Nutrition will also serve Loaded Teas. “A Loaded Tea is clean caffeine infused with aloe vera. It has 15 vitamins and minerals like B6, B12, potassium,” Santamaria said. “Everything we serve, we really just hope to help everyone enjoy being healthy.”

Energy Boosters include flavors such as Watermelon Krawl, Mango Fandango, and Cool Cucumber. VIP Shakes include Banana Bread, Fit Flan, and Oreo XXXPlosion.

Santamaria owns a similar concept called Drive 4 Nutrition in Carrollton. “I wasn’t always the healthiest growing up, and through the smoothie shop and the community, it taught me that healthy doesn’t always have to be dreadful. Healthy can be fun, can taste good, can make you feel good. I get to do what I love by helping others achieve their personal goals within themselves.”

Santamaria’s parents, Deybin and Maria Santamaria, have been big supporters, and she has partnered with them for Plugged In Nutrition. Her parents have been in the restaurant business for 20 years.

Santamaria plans to expand the concept and open other locations in the future. “We really just hope we can bring the community healthier and tastier options. We’re really excited to be a part of the community again, but hopefully, with a new style, a new vibe, more appealing. We’re just really excited.”
