RH Rooftop Restaurant, New York, NY

RH Rooftop Restaurant Restaurant Review:

About the restaurant & décor: This glass-enclosed rooftop restaurant located on the fifth floor of the RH New York furniture and design building is a culinary venture by restaurateur Brendan Sodikoff (Chicago-based Au Cheval, etc.). The interior, characterized by glittering chandeliers, white tablecloths and floral arrangements, and bathed in natural light by day and dimly lit come evening, is both elegant and romantic. While there is no separate bar within the restaurant, diners can order wine, beer and other beverages at the third floor café and enjoy them on the rooftop patio.

Likes: The elegant dimly lit interior blends seamlessly with the sleek furniture showcase surroundings.
Dislikes: There could have been more culinary complexity in the appetizer offerings.

About the food & wine: The New American menu consists of appetizers like a fresh and crisp jumbo shrimp cocktail that pairs nicely with sparkling wine selections, such as a Crémant rosé. Entrées include a delicate and moist poached salmon; consider a white Burgundy as a complement to this dish. A New World Pinot Noir will likely go well with an earthy and pungent tagliatelle and black truffle, as well as other comparably richer offerings. Brunch fare ranges from the RH Scramble (farm eggs, crème fraîche, avocado and chives) to a kale Caesar salad and roasted half chicken with natural jus.
