Sam Snead’s Grill & Tavern reopens at JIA after closing due to COVID-19 pandemic
Sam Snead’s Grill & Tavern has reopened at Jacksonville International Airport after being closed for nearly two years due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The restaurant is located inside the airport terminal before the security checkpoint and is available to all travelers, visitors and staff. It had closed temporarily in April 2020 due to the pandemic, said Wendi Howard, a JAA spokeswoman.
Open daily 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., Sam Snead’s operating hours and menu will expand in the coming months as more staff is hired, Howard said.

Currently, the menu includes the following: Grilled Chicken Quesadilla ($12.99), Chicken Ceasar Salad ($14.99), Chicken Tenders and Chips ($14.99), Sam’s Burger ($12.99), Cheeseburger ($13.99), Bacon Blue ($14.99), Patty Melt ($13.49), Grilled or Blackened Chicken sandwich ($13.19); and Sam’s Turkey Sandwich ($13.99).
The re-opening of the restaurant comes after the opening of Southern Grounds & Co. last month at the airport in Concourse A near Gate A4. Early next year, a second, much larger, full-service Southern Grounds is scheduled to open before the airport security checkpoint — making it accessible to all travelers and airport visitors.
Also planning to open next year at JIA are Burrito Gallery, a relocated Firehouse Subs and BurgerFi.
