THE BEST PUBLIC GOLF COURSES IN THE WASHINGTON DC AREA TO CELEBRATE NATIONAL GOLF MONTH – McEnearney Associates

August is National Golf Month, which means it is a great time for novices and skilled players alike to take to the green. Many golf courses offer a selection of specials during the month of August, so don’t miss your chance to join in before September arrives!

National Golf Month is a holiday founded in 1993 by the Professional Golfers’ Association of America (PGA). The month is dedicated to celebrating a family-friendly sport accessible to a wide variety of people. There are plenty of ways to honor this tradition. If you are a skilled player, consider offering to mentor someone new to the sport! Anyone can bring a new friend to the driving range. If you normally golf with peers, instead bring your kids or younger family members to the course. If you are looking for a unique spin on the sport, check out FootGolf— a hybrid of soccer and golf.

If you are entirely new to the sport, many places like GolfDC offer multiple options suited to your skill set and instructor needs. Some area lesson locations like GolfTEC (with locations in Tysons Corner, North Bethesda, Gaithersburg, and more) offer a summer lesson sale.

Lastly, you need the right gear for your outing! Check out the often steep summer sales at area retailers like GOLFDOM (Tysons Corner), the Golf Doctor (Downtown D.C.), or Annandale Golf (check Yelp right now for 10% off your purchase).

Finally, head out to tee off at one of these favorite area golf courses around these nearby Washington, D.C., Virginia, and Maryland areas.
