The 7 Best Restaurants to Visit on Lanai | Travel Magazine

People know Lanai for many things – unique outdoor adventures, luxurious spas, and a pristine reef. But, what isn’t talked about enough is the food available on Lanai. This small island has an abundance of delicious restaurants with talented chefs making creative menus. Here are the seven best restaurants to visit the next time you’re on Lanai.

1. One Forty

One Forty is an American steakhouse and Hawaiian seafood restaurant located in the Four Seasons Lanai Resort. This is a perfect spot for a romantic date night as you get to enjoy a wonderful dinner with an ocean view right in front of you.

The restaurant’s two signature dishes you have to order are the Rack of Lanai Venison and the Catalan Shrimp. The menu also has Kobe beef, a huge selection of cocktails, and fresh seafood towers. You’ll leave here feeling full and happy.

2. Blue Ginger Cafe

The Blue Ginger Cafe is a small, casual eatery offering a mix of American and Pan-Asian food. The cafe is both a bakery and a restaurant serving breakfast, lunch, and dinner all week long. Blue Ginger Cafe is popular with both Lanai locals and tourists as it is known for having fresh bread and pastries, large portions, and affordable prices. We recommend coming here for breakfast or lunch to get a filling meal to set you up for the rest of the day. Our favorites include the Loco Moco burger and the fish and chips.

3. Nobu

International chain Nobu has a stunning location in Lanai. As most people know, Nobu is a fan favorite with celebrities for its fresh seafood cuisine. Nobu is a fine-dining experience perfect for a special occasion or celebrating your first or last day in Hawaii.

Nobu Lanai offers the same luxurious dining experience you can expect from any Nobu location. The seafood is fresh, the cocktails are strong, and the atmosphere is fun. If it’s in your budget, we recommend trying Chef Omakase’s Tasting Menu.

Cafe 565 is a simple restaurant offering a mix of American and Korean cuisine. The cafe serves lunch and dinner with both indoor and outdoor seating. Located in the heart of Lanai, Cafe 565 is perfect for grabbing a meal to go before you head to the beach. The best thing about Cafe 565 is there’s something on the menu for everyone. 6. Pele’s Other Garden

Pele’s Other Garden describes itself as a “New York Deli and Bistro – Lanai Style.” The best part is that visiting Pele’s Other Garden at lunch and at dinner gives you two totally different experiences. This mom-and-pop diner serves up simple sandwiches (hot and cold), pizza, and salads at lunch. You can enjoy your lunch with any of the 15 beers served on tap. Come back at dinner, and you’ll see Pele’s transformed into an intimate Italian bistro. The food reminds you of home-cooked meals, but with a little bit of added flare!

7. Coffee Works

If you’re looking for a quick, light bite for breakfast or lunch, come to Coffee Works. This cafe serves up some of the best coffee on the island. And, you don’t just have to take our word for it. Coffee Works was voted one of Hawaii’s five best coffee shops in 2021 by Hawaii Magazine.

Coffee Works first opened in 1975 as Honolulu’s first coffee house. In 2020, the owners chose to move the establishment over to the island of Lanai.

And, if you want some food with your caffeine kick, you’re in luck. Coffee Works has a small menu, but every item is fantastic. We recommend trying the Sweet Cream pancakes, the breakfast wrap, or the pizza bagel. In addition to their food menu, there is always a selection of fresh pastries to choose from.

After trying Coffee Works once, we guarantee you’ll come back again and again.
