Denver is one of the fastest growing areas of the country, and has the golf courses to prove it! There is an abundance of options available for golfers of all abilities to get out and chase the little white ball around in the shadow of the Rockies. Below are some of the best Denver golf courses to play if you find yourself in the area. Be sure to check out our complete map directory of every public golf course in the United States as well.

This 232-acre championship par 72 course offers 5 sets of tees so every golfer can comfortably challenge themselves. Riverdale Golf Courses (Brighton, CO)

The Riverdale Golf Courses offers two different 18 hole layouts: The Dunes and The Knolls. Pete and Perry Dye designed the Dunes course in a Scottish links style, with pot bunkers and mounds filling out this top-rated public track. The Knolls course is a traditional park-style layout that is crisscrossed by canals.

Players need to know their distances and be prepared to club up as this course features multiple elevated greens. This is easily one of the most challenging Denver golf courses.

Walnut Creek Golf Preserve (Westminster, CO)

Walnut Creek is more the just a golf course – it is also an Audubon Certified Signature Sanctuary. The property is sustainably managed to support and promote the local land and wildlife habitat. This means the course is home to more than 77 wildlife species as well as native plants. The golf course follows gently rolling hills and has an abundance of wild grasses, allowing the golfer to fully experience the natural landscape

Red Hawk Ridge Golf Course (Castle Rock, CO)

Designed by Jim Engh, Red Hawk Ridge opened in 1999 and provides a country club feel to the golfing public. An extensive practice facility allows golfers to warm up and hone their games as they prepare to take on the course. Scoring opportunities are available for the golfer brave enough to take on the risks involved.

Green Valley Ranch Golf Club (Denver, CO)

Common Ground Golf Club (Aurora, CO)

Common Ground Golf Club is truly unique, as it lies in the heart of the city. However, this Tom Doak course transports the golfer to a peaceful state. It presents comforts and challenges for all golfers, with strategically placed hazards throughout the course. The course also prides itself on being an easy walk, for those who prefer to either carry or push rather than ride. This is easily one of the best Denver golf courses, don’t miss it!
