The Netherlands | Top 100 Golf Courses

The Netherlands, or Holland as it is often misguidedly known, is one of Europe’s most popular destinations. Amsterdam’s tulips and its colourful sometimes alternative scene, attracts millions of visitors each year.

Windmills, canals, bikes and its low-lying land are synonymous with this friendly nation, which seems to be full of tall people. But it’s only a small country, which will always be very big in our hearts, not least because there is some capital golf to be played, and new courses are still being developed.

With around 250 golf courses in the Netherlands, serving approximately 400,000 registered club members, golf is big business for the Dutch but it has not quite captured the imagination of visiting golfers. Those in the know head to the Dutch North Sea coast to seek out the unsung links courses that rival the best coastal layouts in Britain and Ireland. Honestly, it’s true. And did we mention the Golden Age heathland courses? The Netherlands is just waiting to be discovered.
