The Overlook Restaurant and On the Rocks Bar are Off-Main Street Gems · Dishing Park City

Black Rock Mountain Resort is just minutes outside of Park City and offers an off-Main experience not to be missed. The resort’s restaurant, The Overlook, is a great pit-stop before or after any mountain adventure.

The restaurant opened this April and is spearheaded by chef Ernesto Rocha. He uses locally sourced ingredients like Cache Valley Cheeses, Hugo Coffee Roasters, Wasatch Meats and produce. Appropriately named, the restaurant’s floor-to-ceiling windows face west and give guests a spectacular view of parts of Deer Valley and surrounding hills.

The menu has something for everyone, from buffalo wings, burgers and pizzas, to rack of lamb, brick chicken, and salmon. There are also vegan, vegetarian and gluten-free dishes (the spicy green beans are a must!). The Overlook is a spot for date night or a hearty family meal. The restaurant is open for lunch and dinner seven days a week, and serves brunch Saturdays and Sundays from 7:00 to 11:00 a.m.

Above the restaurant is the On the Rocks Bar, with the same stunning views of the Wasatch mountains. Grab a drink and small bites (or a full meal) at the top shelf-stocked bar while you watch the game or listen to live music. The Grapefruit and Thyme is a refreshing cocktail with house-made grapefruit and thyme syrup and fresh-squeezed grapefruit juice. The Gin and Hibiscus cocktail is well-balanced and made with locally distilled Alpine Gin for a floral, slightly sweeter cocktail. The bar is open seven days a week.

The resort also hosts The Market, where you can pick up snacks, drinks and quick breakfast items. The Market serves Hugo Coffee and espressos and offers smoothies, pastries and snacks. The Market is open daily from 7:00 a.m to 2:00 p.m.
