For their hard work, and diverse menu, the restaurant was awarded an honorable mention nod in the December 2008 Texas Monthly as one of the top forty restaurants in Texas small towns.
In Austin County, the restaurant was voted to have the best all around food, best breakfast, and best chicken fried steak for Ten Years and was named best service at a restaurant Seven Years.
Specialties include Hamburger Steaks, Fried Chicken, Chicken Fried Steak, Chicken Fried Chicken, Fried Catfish and Liver and Onions, among other country favorites. The restaurant also does a homemade soup each day, a favorite with customers.
