Though he died with “just” 28 stars, Robuchon was at one point the proud owner of 31. He was also named “Chef of the Century” numerous times. 

He specialized in French cuisine and has 12 restaurants in his possession. Joël liked the mentoring of young chefs too. A former student of his was the now infamous Gordon Ramsay.

Alain Ducasse, 21 Michelin Stars

Alain Ducasse may easily be the most successful among the world’s top 10 chefs. This is what he managed to achieve:

  • Earned his 21 Michelin stars and kept them throughout his career
  • He is the proud owner of 3 Michelin Stars restaurants. About 34 restaurants worldwide opened

Alain Ducasse was born in France, and is well known for delivering the most delicious French cuisine meals. Of all the world’s finest chefs, only Ducasse’s meals were eaten outdoors. Yes, this is the food Ducasse served to astronauts in the ISS in 2015. 

Gordon Ramsay, 16 Michelin Stars

Thanks to his television exposure, Gordon Ramsay is perhaps the most familiar face to the general public. He has a famously hot temper, and the ability to cook British cuisine’s most delicious recipes. Ramsay’s cluster of 16 Michelin Stars.

His name is tied to nearly 20 restaurants but his main restaurant in Chelsea is probably the most popular. In the last 18 years this fancy restaurant of his has won 3 stars. 

Martin Berasategui, 8 Michelin Stars

Martin has won 8 Michelin stars so far that makes him the world’s best Spanish chef. Of his ten restaurants, two are triple Michelin starred hotels. One such is the popular Martin Berasategui Restaurant.

Specializing in Basque cuisine, Berasategui’s cooking is something of an art, and he knows how to serve meals.

Carme Ruscalleda, 7 Michelin Stars

Carme Ruscalleda is the only lady to be considered as one of the world’s best chefs to have been awarded 7 Michelin stars to date. She is amongst female chefs with the most Michelin stars.

Ruscalleda was bred on a Spanish farm. Perhaps for this reason, she prefers traditional Catalan recipes and seasonal products. She owns 3 restaurants on two opposite ends of the country.
