A bit of Beach House history
Ed Chiles purchased the old Harbor House in 1993, remodeled it and changed the name to The Beach House. It sat on a beachfront in Bradenton Beach and was an ideal scenic location for the expansive covered deck that was later installed.
The plan from the beginning was simple: to offer fresh, moderately priced and delicious seafood in an exclusive atmosphere.
The plan turned out to be a great success, and the restaurant soon became popular among both locals and travelers for its excellent seafood and memorable beach dining experience.
Plenty of delectable seafood options on the menu
The menu of The Beach House certainly caters to seafood lovers but also has a few tempting land fare options.
For appetizers, choose crab and caviar, raw oysters, or an exclusive seafood tower and castle (perfect for a group) with seasonal crab, mussels, clams, oysters, peel and eat shrimp, lobster, fish dip and cocktail claws.
Other appetizer choices include a seafood bruschetta, house smoked fish dip, coconut shrimp, calamari, short rib taco, and wild boar Thai lettuce wraps.
For entrees, you’ll have several enticing options such as stuffed grouper, a fried seafood platter, seafood capellini, gulf shrimp scampi, crab cakes, black angus steak, fried Cornish hen, seafood gumbo, vegetable risotto, salads, and clam chowder.
Don’t forget to add one or two of the unique homemade sides including the “soon to be world famous” hush puppies, Mexican corn, pineapple coleslaw, creamed spinach, potato cakes and sauerkraut, and roasted asparagus.
A selection of sandwiches nicknamed the “Beach Buns” complete the menu including chicken, veggie and grouper sandwiches, a signature Beach House or Gamble Creek burger, and fish tacos.
The drink options are plentiful and include spirits, a huge range of domestic and imported wines, champagne for celebrations and special occasions, signature cocktails, a rotation of local craft beers and other popular featured breweries, a large selection of bottle beers and soft drinks.

The ambiance of The Beach House Restaurant is hard to beat. The interior was recently remodeled and now offers one of the most luxurious modern settings that you’ll find on the island.
If you choose to sit inside, enjoy comfortable banquette seating or padded wooden chairs, plenty of space between tables, relaxing lighting, an impressive wine rack display, and updated furniture.
