Barcelona Wine Bar Restaurant Review:
About the restaurant: Through Barcelona Wine Bar, Atlanta has acquired a taste of the Spanish style of eating rather than an authentic representation of specific dishes. A large outdoor fireplace is a cozy feature, but the interior is just as welcoming with its rustic wood walls.
About the food: The potato omelet (potato tortilla) is served warm, rather than the traditional room temperature that one would find in any Spanish tapas bar. However, you’ll find the very soul of authenticity in the cheese and cured meat offerings, including Jamón Serrano and chorizo picante. Big appetites can go for shareable dishes such as whole branzino or paella. Try the flan for dessert and the equally classic churros with hot chocolate for dunking.
About the wine: The wine list is a book of Spanish whites, reds and dessert wines. We like being able to order a fino sherry or manzanilla (both dry) and know that it will come properly chilled. Savor either as a starter with marinated olives and perhaps some aged manchego cheese.
