A&A Bake & Doubles Roti, a Trinidadian restaurant that has been a mainstay in Bedford-Stuyvesant since 2002, is now in the same company as the 2nd Avenue Deli, Peter Luger Steak House, Barney Greengrass and Sahadi Fine Foods.

Like the other institutions named above, A&A has received the America’s Classic award from the James Beard Foundation. To receive the award, restaurants have to be regional institutions that have been around for more than 10 years, according to Eater.

A&A, owned by Trinidadian immigrants Geeta and Noel Brown, is located at 1337 Fulton St. near Verona Place. Among the standout items on the menu are goat roti; doubles, or deep-fried flatbreads stuffed with curried chickpeas; shrimp bakes and more, Eater said.
