Once the snow melts away and golf season comes into full swing, Park City offers an ideal landscape surrounded by the hilly ski slopes that transform into bright green peaks and valleys suitable for top-notch golfing. Tee up on a water course, admire the earthy, red canyons, or surrender to the jagged Rocky Mountains — there is surely a course to tickle your fancy! Because of its elevated location in the mountains, golfers can enjoy cooler summer temperatures and watch a well-struck shot fly a few yards further through the air due to the thinner altitude. Easily accessible amenities, activities, and restaurants available in the surrounding area are a convenient part of your Park City golfing getaway experience.

  1. The green fairways of Soldier Hollow Golf are tucked in front of an immaculate backdrop with vistas of the majestic Wasatch Mountains. This 36-hole course designed by Gene Bates offers two courses named “Silver” and “Gold” in reference to their Olympic heritage. Amazing views of the Heber Valley make games played on the Gold course all the more enchanting, while the Silver course with wider fairways offers stunning views of Mount Timpanogos. Soldier Hollow Golf is the full package, offering: lessons and leagues to join, practicing facilities, shopping at the pro golf store, and dining at the Soldier Hollow Grill.

  2. Park City Golf Course is a public municipal course that offers a high-quality course experience at a reasonable price. The course is friendly for beginners as well as more experienced golfers looking for a laid-back, leisurely game that still offers stunning views. The staff is warm and accommodating to ensure that your golf needs are met. If you are a Utah resident, be sure to ask about the break on green fees. Reservations can be booked seven days in advance.

  3. Offering an affordable rate and peaceful atmosphere, Wasatch Lake Course is another municipal course available to the public. This classic, tree-lined course is particularly enjoyable during the fall season, with crisp, cool air and the tips of its trees bursting fiery strokes of color. Whether you are looking to test your own driving skills or take advantage of the lakeside beauty, each hole on this course has something to offer the avid (or casual) golfer.

  4. Wasatch Mountain Golf Course is the sister course to the Wasatch Lake Course. Designed by William H. Neff, this course is also popular for its affordability. This scenic spot has been a favorite among Utah natives and visitors alike since 1962. At an elevation of 6,000 feet, this course has received an esteemed ranking of 4.5 out of 5. Considered one of the top 100 courses in the world, the course adds up to a par 71 for a commendable game waiting to be played.

  5. If you are in search of a course that will truly challenge your skill on the green, dare to tee off at Canyons Golf Course, which offers some of the most impressive views of the Wasatch and Uinta mountains, featuring a 550-foot change in elevation in its rollercoaster dynamic, as reported in Golfpass. There is no easing into this round of 18 holes, as even the most avid golfer will be faced with par 3’s, 4’s and 5’s in the first four holes, with narrow fairway shots, dogleg blind spots, and a few false fronts that demand precision and accuracy. Definitely show up to play with a sense of grace and plenty of extra balls! Recover and replenish afterwards at the Red Tail Grill serving mountainside gastropub cuisine. Coming in as Utah’s number four public course, Canyons Golf Course will surely offer a game you won’t soon forget.
