Best of 2016: Top 20 golf courses in Hawaii

Few destinations are as coveted for spectacular resort golf as the islands of Hawaii. But it’s also a state that is wonderfully accommodating to locals, too. With that in mind, we uncovered the Top 20 golf courses in Hawaii based on your ratings and reviews from the past year. The results feature a mix of high-end resort experiences and more affordable, public courses. The list is spread out quite evenly throughout the four largest golf islands, and there’s a course for any budget, whether you’re ka’amaina or not.

To compile our state lists, we used a similar method to that of our our national Top 50 ranking. A course’s score is based on their overall (50%) rating and subcategory average (50%). Reviews are weighted based on how prolific that reviewer is on Golf Advisor, and a course receives a bump in their rating if their score is better than that reviewer’s average score.
