TJ’s was one of the first seafood restaurants on the scene in Dallas and continues to serve up some of the best oysters in town to this day.

TJ’s offers oysters from both coasts and are so fresh you can almost taste the seawater in them which is something very hard to come by in the middle of Dallas. The staff are amazing and will be sure to give you recommendations that’ll perfectly match what you’re looking for.

If you can’t get enough of the oysters from your meal, then hit up the fishmonger counter afterward and they’ll be happy to shuck some oysters for you to take home to enjoy.

Eddie V’s is an American seafood chain but despite being all over the country, the restaurant on Oak Lawn Avenue is hugely popular with locals and tourists visiting Dallas.

The restaurant is ideal for after-work drinks and oysters with colleagues or even an evening treating someone close to you, with the soft jazz music and serving up one of the best oyster happy hours in town.

Serving both east coast and gulf oysters on ice, along with some seriously prime seafood and hand-cut stocks you’re guaranteed to have a home run of a meal every time.

The restaurant is pretty pricey but one that should be top of your list if you want to impress a date with some outstanding seafood.

Gemma is an absolute gem of a restaurant, boasting Hamptons vibe interior and spectacular food. They’re open till 1 am and have both restaurant and bar seating areas depending on what occasion you’ve come for.

Whilst the oysters are the star of the show at Gemma, you’ll need to try a selection of their to-die-for wines that had them awarded as one of America’s top 100 wine restaurants back in 2019.

If you’re looking for a great wine to accompany your fresh oysters, then we recommend an ice-cold glass of the Schiopetto Pinot Grigio (or the bottle if someone else is buying).

Boulevardier offers a good selection of east coast oysters that are flown in daily and are perfect for sharing as an appetizer or for continuously ordering for the evening.

If you manage to arrive early to your reservation, make sure to let one of the talented bar staff make you up one of their amazing craft cocktails.

Beware, the parking situation for Boulevardier is a nightmare due to the Bishop Arts area, but the restaurant does offer very efficient valet parking. If you’re using Uber to get to this spot you may need to give them some extra directions as it’s difficult for the driver to find.

Pappadeaux Seafood Kitchen is based in over 90 locations in 7 states and even has one in DFW airport in terminal A, which is very popular with Texans flying out of state.

Whether it’s a casual lunch or a special dinner, Pappadeaux will deliver when it comes to fresh oysters and delicious seafood.

If you’re just looking for oysters as an entree, then you’ll be blown away by the vast choice of mains available regardless of if you’re looking for seafood or meat. If you’re dining with friends, share a handful of mains and sides between you so you don’t miss out on all the good stuff.

The restaurant on Lombardy Lane can get quite busy especially on a weekend evening, so we recommend making a reservation in advance to avoid disappointment on missing out on the magnificent dozen oysters.

To get the most bang for your buck, head to Aw Shucks anytime between 3 and 6 pm in the week for half-priced oysters during happy hour.

The restaurant is one of the most reasonably priced recommendations and is highly recommended by families in the area who are looking to treat their family to a big meal.

The S&D Oyster Company is one of Dallas’ most well-known and well-loved classic restaurants, situated in a historic 1800s building.  The opening of S&D in the 70s was inspired by the owners, Herb and Mary Kay Story’s love of seafood that they enjoyed during Herb’s former navy career.

Many of the residents in Uptown will vouch to say that S&D’s oysters are some of the best they’ve ever tried and transport you sitting in a seaside joint on the Gulf Coast.

The simple yet perfected menu features a dozen or half dozen oysters on half-shell accompanied by a delightful custom homemade sauce that is really just the tip of the iceberg (or a bed of crushed ice).

The wonderful service and the love surrounding this family-run restaurant is something you don’t want to miss out on.

Montlake Cut is one of Dallas Chef Nick Badaonois’s latest concepts who’s managed to recreate the essence of Seattle’s waterfront in his restaurant in the heart of Dallas.

The oyster selection at Montlake Cut is fantastic, although albeit a little expensive compared to other seafood joints across Dallas.

If you’re unfamiliar with the choice of oysters then just ask one of their knowledgeable staff who will point you in the right direction, however, we’d recommend opting for a happy medium of both west coast and east coast oysters.

Be sure to finish off your delights from the raw bar needs to be done with the hot rum cake that’s drizzled with cool chantilly cream –
