Best places to play mini golf with kids around Seattle

Mini golf is a family fun go-to, and you don’t need to have golf experience to enjoy a day out playing putt putt. The Seattle area offers plenty of ways to enjoy a fun game with the kids (and check out the cool and unique putt putt course obstacles)! Here are 10 options for mini golf in the Seattle area.

Seattle / Everett

This par-three, nine-hole course is pretty basic when it comes to putt putt courses, but the setting can’t be beat. Head to Green Lake for a post-putting stroll or pop in at the playground.

Cost: $10; $8 (17 and under); $8 (seniors / 65for and over) Bring your own clubs or rent them. Balls sold for $1, but you can bring your own.

Hours: Open March 1st through October 31st. Monday through Sunday; hours vary so call ahead. *New for 2022: No reservations for tee time required. Walk-ins only as of July 1st.

You’ll find this pretty, tree-lined course between the Magnolia and Queen Ann neighborhoods. The 18-hole course mirrors a full-scale golfing experience, without the kitschy obstacles of traditional putt putts, so if your family tends to be a wee bit more serious about birdies and bogeys, this spot’s for you.

King Mini Golf Park is now open! Part of the King Family Fun Center (formerly known as Skate Tiffany’s), it’s one of the newer putt putt courses in the area.

This outdoor course adjacent to the ice center has “dangerous” water hazards, challenging jumps, and a 10-foot waterfall — the perfect backdrop for your hole-in-one. Bring your own putters, or rent clubs for an additional fee. Cash not accepted due to COVID, although it is possible to pay online in advance; reservations not required.

Choose between two 18-hole courses; a fun obstacle course with a windmill, moving holes, and a rotating green, or a water course with tube holes (putt the ball in, and it pops out somewhere else)! After golf, hit some baseballs in the batting cages, and take a spin on the go-carts. Snack break at the concession stand!

This family favorite features four courses, ranging from easy to medium, to challenging. Obstacles include a boat dragged from Commencement Bay, sand traps, and hidden holes. Fun side-note — you can win trophies, ribbons, and free passes!

Eastside

 

Part of the larger Willows Run course, this super fun putt putt spot is summed up perfectly on their website:  “Journey with us if you dare…through this wilderness retreat of eagle, coyote, cougar and bear. Where along the way you’re sure to find…hazards and rewards of a most peculiar kind. But if you please, stay on the trail without delay…else you may hear a grumpy bear growling, “Fowl Play!”

The course delights golfers with water features, a bear cave, and PNW-inspired putting greens. Hit up the snack bar for post-putt ice cream.

For parents who would like to enjoy a pint with their putt, Flat Stick Pub is the way to go. The 9-hole mini course features unique obstacles like water “hazards” and beer kegs. While minors aren’t allowed in the pub after 7 p.m., kids can golf in the Kirkland and South Lake Union locations during the day. There are (soon to be) 6 locations in WA, including Kirkland and South Lake Union.
