Boat America Classes

Our classroom-based boating safety classes are temporarily suspended due to COVID-19. Please see ONLINE CLASSES on the menu at left to register for our new online boating safety course.

One of the Coast Guard Auxiliary's cornerstone missions is to educate the public on recreational boating safety. Our program for 2021 features the Boat America course taught by experienced instructors. All graduates receive the Florida Boating Safety Education I.D. Card which is required for all boaters born after January 1, 1988.

Our classes are offered on the third Saturday of each month except December. There is a $40 fee for the classroom course with discounts offered for persons attending as family or friends.

Class times are 8am to 5pm. Class dates are as follows:

  • 23 January 2021
  • 20 February 2021
  • 20 March 2021
  • 17 April 2021
  • 15 May 2021
  • 19 June 2021
  • 17 July 2021
  • 21 August 2021

The address where our classes are offered is:

Brevard County Sheriff's Conference Room
Integrated Mission Operations Complex (IMOC)
640 Magellan Road, Cape Canaveral, FL 32920

The parking area and the entrance door are at the first left turn (onto Magellan Road) after turning onto Grouper Road from Route 401. Enter the door marked 640. Click here for a map.
