Disc golf has become a local favorite in the area as it allows a great opportunity to get together with friends, hike in the outdoors and have a friendly competition.

Disc golf is similar to golf. The course made up of tees, fairways and baskets. The discs, similar to frisbees, are weighted and sized for throwing long distances, mid-range or putting, and everything in between. It has become a popular activity among mountain locals and is a great way to enjoy the outdoors.

Grab some friends or your family and head over to the Frisco Adventure Park for a game! Frisco is just 7 miles from Breckenridge and the course is on Lake Dillon and surrounded by views of Buffalo Mountain, Red Peak, and the Tenmile Range. The Peak One Disc Golf course (621 Recreation Way, Frisco, CO) is free to use for the public and offers a wide variety of terrain and obstacles with holes taking you through open meadows, trees, and up and down hills. The Lake Dillon Disc Golf course is considered more difficult than the Frisco Adventure Park as it requires hiking fairly steep hills and throwing from elevated points that are often quite windy. This course offers spectacular views of Lake Dillon and the surrounding mountains. The Lake Dillon Disc Golf Course is also free to the public and is located off of Highway 6 between Dillon and Keystone. When heading east towards Keystone, turn left onto Cemetery Road then take your first right into the parking area. The first tee is about a 1-mile hike up the main path from the parking area.

If you are looking for the next level disc golf course, look no further than Arapahoe Basin. The 18-hole course is nestled at the base of the resort among the trees; it will challenge you to changes in elevation and skill on the course. Ascent to the top of North Fork and then come about the Pallavinchi Chair back to the base area. The course will open in the summer months when the snow has melted and the course dries out, usually late June and into early July. The course is open 7 days a week in the summer months. Concessions are available in the summer months at the Legends Cafe at the base area, as well as at Black Mountain Lodge on weekends.
