Captain D's Ignites Expansion in Texas with Opening of New Restaurant in DallasNashville, TN  (  Captain D’s, the leading fast casual seafood restaurant, announced today the opening of its newest franchised location in Dallas, Texas. The new restaurant is the brand’s 13th location in the state and marks Captain D’s continued development in Texas, with two additional locations to open this summer in Houston and Garland. Located at 6216 Retail Road, the Dallas restaurant will celebrate its opening with a ribbon cutting ceremony today at 10 a.m.

The new Captain D’s in Dallas is owned by International Restaurant Group, and is the first of three locations the group plans to develop in the Dallas-Fort Worth metro area. The restaurant is 2,373 square feet, with a drive-thru, and showcases the brand’s most recent beach design. With the opening of this new location, Captain D’s has created 40 new jobs in the Dallas community. Additionally, International Restaurant Group signed a multi-unit agreement to bring five restaurants to San Antonio over the next several years, further driving the brand’s rapid expansion throughout Texas.

The opening of the new restaurant in Dallas furthers the success Captain D’s experienced in 2016, as the brand achieved its sixth consecutive year of same store sales increases and fourth successive year of record high system-wide average unit volume (AUV). This ongoing success has propelled Captain D’s franchise expansion, with agreements signed to open an additional 25 new restaurants this year in states across the country including Florida, South Carolina, Texas, Georgia, Illinois, Tennessee, Alabama, Arkansas and Virginia.

Coupled with its ongoing menu innovation, Captain D’s credits its new restaurant beach design with contributing to the brand’s ongoing strong performance.
