CLEP Exam – SOWELA Technical Community College
SOWELA Technical Community College is now administering College Level Examination Program (CLEP). CLEP is a 90 minute computer based standardized test. These tests allow students to earn college credits without taking a college course. Students will receive an instant score report after completing the exam. Official results are mailed from CLEP and sent to the institution selected at the time of the test.

Exam Fees:
Please note that there is a two-step process:

- Second, to schedule the CLEP exam click schedule a test (opens new window). CLEP fees will need to be paid prior to scheduling a date and time.

Essay tests require a 4 week prior notice in order to received test materials.
NO REFUNDS WILL BE ISSUED FOR CANCELLATIONS. Scheduling errors are the examinee’s liability. A 24 hour notice must be received to reschedule appointment in order to avoid loss of exam fees.
Testing Schedule:
Tuesdays 9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.
Thursdays 9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.
Preparing for the Exam:

Test Day:
- Arrive to the testing center at least 15 minutes prior to appointment
- Retrieve a parking pass
- Students must have:
- CLEP Exam Registration
- Valid Photo ID
- Proof of payment
CLEP Credit Information:
Students can receive credit from the CLEP exam in specified subjects. Students who plan on receiving credit should have official test scores sent SOWELA (College Code 5048). Please see the CLEP Credit By Examination Policy (PDF/opens new window) for your reference.
Testing Accommodations:
Students requesting accommodation for CLEP need to schedule 4 weeks in advance. Students will need to have official documentation of disability. Students will need to contact SOWELA Disability services at ods@sowela.edu. The Office of disability services will review documents and determine the appropriate accommodations. Accommodations cannot be made without documentation.
