Job description<p> </p><p>Our firm has been retained to fill a Director, Warehouse Operations & Distribution role for a small privately held, highly successful furniture design company that has been in business for over 30 years.</p><p>Note, this is not a manufacturing facility but rather a pure warehouse and distribution facility. Experience with inventory management and procurement would be ideal.</p><p>* Proven ability to build and develop an Operations team, to include providing mentoring, rigorous training, and development, planning for team members, as well as succession planning for the operations organization</p><p>* Solid experience with continually monitoring warehouse layout and operational activities and recommend changes to improve warehouse space and production efficiencies</p><p>* History of recommending, implementing, and supporting continuous improvement within the department and the company to improve employee performance, quality control, productivity, efficiency, and cost reduction</p><p>* Strong background in carrier management; ability to seek, negotiate, and manage carriers to ensure utilization of the best service in terms of dependability and economy</p><p>* A customer-driven thinker with the ability to establish policies and procedures to exceed customers’ needs through exceptional service and ensuring a safe and productive work environment for employees.</p><p>* 10-15 years of progressive operations experience in either manufacturing and or distribution environment, preferably including outsourced manufacturing.</p><p>* Demonstrated experience leading and growing teams of 20 plus employees.</p><p> </p>
