Continuing Education and the COVID-19 Pandemic

In compliance with state and local mandates in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, we are migrating some of our lectures and courses to an online format. You’ll experience the same quality teaching by our world-class faculty — and receive CDE credit — through our classes on the Zoom platform. If you are on our mailing list, you will receive updates as courses are scheduled on Zoom.

Should you have any questions, please feel free to email us at cde@ucsf.edu or call and leave a message at 415.514.0778.

Credentials

UCSF is an ADA CERP Recognized Provider. ADA CERP is a service of the American Dental Association to assist dental professionals in identifying quality providers of continuing dental education. ADA CERP does not approve or endorse individual courses or instructors, nor does it imply acceptance of credit hours by boards of dentistry.

Registration

There are three ways to register for CDE courses:

  • Online: Choose one or more courses and click “Register Now”
  • Mail: Send the copy of your registration form along with your payment to:

    UCSF Continuing Dental Education
    707 Parnassus Ave D-4010
    San Francisco, CA 94143

  • Phone: 415.514.0778

We process registrations in the order payments are received. Participation courses and study groups have limited seating, so early registration is encouraged.

A course confirmation will be emailed to you within 3-4 business days after receiving your registration. If you do not receive a confirmation, please call our office. Please note that holiday office closures may delay the registration process by a few days.

We accept cash; checks made payable to UC Regents; and Visa, MasterCard and American Express.

Cancellation process

Lecture Courses: Tuition refund, less a $50 cancellation fee, will be issued for cancellations received in writing or by telephone at least three (3) business days prior to the start date of the course. No refunds will be issued for late cancellations or no-shows. We reserve the right to cancel any course due to circumstances beyond our control; in those rare instances we will refund all course fee payments. UCSF School of Dentistry CDE is not responsible for reimbursement of any travel expenses in the event that a course is cancelled.

Participation Courses: Refunds for participation/workshop courses, minus the non-refundable deposit, will be granted if requested at least 10 days prior to the start of the course. No refund given with less than 10 days before the course start.

Destination Programs, Special Sponsored Courses and Events: Full tuition refund, less $100 cancellation fee, for other courses (co-sponsored with dental companies or other dental schools and departments, held off-campus at hotels, etc.) will be given for cancellations received 10 days prior to the course start date. After this time, cancellations will be subject to an additional $100 processing fee. No refunds will be issued for cancellations received the day of the course, or no-shows.

Travel Courses: Each course varies. Please call our office, or refer to specific travel brochures for details.
