Dallas is growing. Dallas is growing. A statement I hear and say several times a week now. But it really is, especially with the next development coming up at The Village this spring.
The Village Dallas, an apartment community that has been around for 50 years, is creating its own entertainment district now. The 34-acre mixed-use lifestyle project will include 12 new restaurants, which will all be led by Chef Junior Borges.
Born in Brazil, Chef Borges started out in several New York kitchens before coming to Dallas in 2014. He’s served as executive chef of FT33 and The Joule, where he oversaw all six dining concepts. Borges also earned a rare five-star review from Leslie Brenner (former restaurant critic at Dallas Morning News), as the opening chef at Uchi Dallas.
Last year, it was announced that Borges would partner with Stephan Courseau on a new restaurant on Knox, but that fell through. So, this will be Borge’s next big project.
“I am excited to be a part of The Village,” Borges says. “I plan to serve the surrounding neighborhoods of The Village and guests from throughout the DFW metroplex at these new restaurants, which will offer dining experiences perfect for both special occasions and weekly meals.”
It’s yet to be revealed what kinds of restaurants the giant apartment communities (a 300-acre collection to be exact) will open with Borges at the helm, but one is described as “chef-driven from Chef Borges” and unnamed. Okay…

The other new restaurants are still being developed, but all of them will be open to the public. The Village’s entertainment district also includes open event spaces, active recreation areas, community parks, urban plazas, a private residents club, fitness club, swimming pools, and more. It’s really like its own little city.
And it’s growing in a major way — just like the big city around it.
