Lord’s is a brand new restaurant concept from partners Patricia Howard and Chef Ed Szymanski. The two are best known as the founders of Dame, an English seafood restaurant that brought upscale British cuisine to MacDougal Street. Dame originally began as a popup called Dame Summer Club, a wildly popular concept that served Chef Szymanski’s elevated take on fish and chips. His concept eventually became so successful that he and Patricia were soon able to open the full time brick-and-mortar restaurant we now know as Dame.

Now, Patricia and Ed are getting ready to open their second restaurant, doing business under the name Lord’s. The new restaurant is intended to feature “innovative English-style food” in an “upscale English Bistro” and will be opening up at 506 LaGuardia Place. Lord’s will be replacing Bosie Tea Parlor, a much loved tea parlor that operated in the space for over 10 years before closing down in 2021. Before that, the space housed Bar Freud, a popular Austrian restaurant,

The space features a ground floor that offers a total of 1,875 square feet of space as well as a 2,450 square foot cellar and 1,625 square foot subcellar. Patricia and Ed are also requesting approval for a sidewalk cafe and roadbed, that when combined with the interior tables and bar will seat a total of 77 guests,

Currently, the team is preparing to meet with the community board to request approval for a full liquor license for the new restaurant. They are proposing operating hours of 11:00 AM – 12:00 AM every day, seven days a week. The restaurant’s music will be kept to the background level and will be permitted to host occasional private parties. While the project is still a long way away from an official announcement, you can follow Dame on Instagram for information on all of the team’s latest ventures.
